WSRR 5.11

This week, we are honoring Hip Hop straight outta Oakland CA, and the East Bay Area. For Wsrr 5/11 we are honoring #510Day which is the day where we celebrate Oakland, and everything #TownBiz.

“Boxcar Sessions” – Saafir
“N’ Gatz We Truss” – South Central Cartel

First lets shout out the Bay 2 LA releases this week. May 10th 1994, Saafir the Oakland MC dropped “Boxcar Sessions”. Same Day in LA, South Central Cartel releases “N Gatz We Truss”.

May 11th 1999 on No Limit Records, Snoop Dogg drops the “No Limit Top Dogg”, this was an excellent album … i mean Dr. Dre, KLC, Ant Banks, Def Jeff, Dj Quik, Meech Wells, Jelly Roll.. as producers? This debuted on billboard 200 as #2, only second to Ricky Martin.

“No Limit Top Dogg” – Snoop Dogg

May 14th 1991. Ice-T Original Gangster. The album that made OG a part of everyone’s venacular. To note, when this dropped the vinyl, yes we had records back then .. had only 16 tracks, while the CD had 24. Wasn’t well received by critics, but bumped up on down the blocks of CA.

“Original Gangster” – Ice – T
