Stevie Wonder born on 5/13/50.

Owner of a record 25 grammy wins, the most by a solo artist.

Stevie’s influence on just popular music goes way beyond R&B and hip hop. Stevie is also the first Black artist to win an Oscar for best original song “I just called to say I love you.”

But Stevie’s influence goes beyond just being a singer, songwriter, producer, and musician.

Lets just consider the records that he has had sampled starting with the most obvious: “That Girl” which of course was used to make “So Many Tears” by 2Pac, and the remakes of Ribbon In The Sky by Intro as well as Overjoyed by Mary J Blige and Lately by Jodeci

So without further ado, a brief list of records that either sampled Stevie or were inspired by Stevie:

1. I’ll Do Anything by Ginuwine (uses Visions by Stevie Wonder)
2. Set It Off by Erick Sermon (uses You Will Know)
3. Ansar El Muhammad by Askari X (uses Maybe Your Baby)
4. Conversations by Snoop Dogg (uses Have A Talk With God)
5. You Bring The Sunshine by Clark Sisters (Inspired by Master Blaster)

6. Livin It Up by Ja Rule (uses Do I Do)

7. Keep It Real by Jamal (uses Ribbon In The Sky)

8. Tell Me Something Good by UGK (interpolation of Tell Me Something Good by Rufus written by Stevie Wonder)
