The time is always right to biggup this classic album, but especially on this 25th anniversary. This album literally changed my life. I told Aceyalone, (gubmit named Eddie Hayes) in person at Maritime Hall in San Francisco how this album helped me overcome some very difficult times.
Acey, and his producer Mumbles, created a very deep album that touched upon life and death and everything in between. Both the lyrics and the music create a perfect blend to stimulate positive reflection without boredom.
There’s a song for every mood on this album. Like other classics, it’s best to listen to this album straight through from start to finish. Even the intros and outros and interludes a perfectly placed. Most heads would consider “The Guidelines” as being the premier cut on this album and I happen to agree. It’s literally a perfect song. It’s an anthem! Again, listen to the whole album and tell a friend.
