Continuance – Curren$y & The Alchemist -!!!1/2

This now familiar collaboration between rapper Curren$y and producer Alchemist is kinda like Jambalaya and Caviar- an unforeseen pairing yet surprisingly satisfying. While on the surface, you wouldn’t think of mixing the two, after consumption you think to yourself- why not?!

As the title indicates, Continuance is the follow-up to their 2011 Covert Coup LP. They are joined by fellow-statue wreckers Havoc, Wiz Khalifa, Styles P, Babyface Ray and Larry June. This is a solid album and the only reason it doesn’t rate even higher is some of the tracks were noticeably short and it lacked sonic variance. Its dope though. Curren$y has a raw, effortless flow. Alchemist has already approached the beginnings of a legendary tier in Hip-Hop production. The album is moody yet assertive. Reserved yet confident. Enjoy it!
