Killah Priest – Ragnarok (9/2021)  – !!! 1/2

Ragnarok is dark. I happen to like dark, grimy underground Hip-Hop so I appreciated this release. Even though it does not feature any of the primary OG Wu clan, it still feels Wu-Tang.  RZA is not involved (as if we even expect it anymore), but still, there is a unique, quality soundscape provided by Shaka Amazulu, The 7th, backing Killah Priest’s historic and fantastic imagery. Listen to it straight through and run it back a few.

  1. The Ark Before Noah – intro
  2. B.4.R.C.0.D.3. – !!!
  3. Day of the Dead – !!! 1/2
  4. M.D.M/Master Devine Master = Mind Detect Mind – !!! 1/2
  5. T.E.A. (Tiny Encryption Algorithm) – !!! 1/2
  6. Dark Planets –  !! 1/2
  7. Double Couple (Type 2 Earthquake) – acapella poem
  8. Ragnoros Hammer – !!!!
  9. Black Market Rustlers – !!!!
  10. The Darkness – !!!

Legend:

!!!!! – anthem/classic

!!!! – bangin

!!! – cool/solid

!! – aiiight

! – whack
