Big Thangs, from Mega Westcoast artists. Lets get into it.
First up, Big Born Day to E40!! We celebrate the Bay Area Ambassador, who has been in the game since 1986! He is credited with 35 albums, including the upcoming Mount Westmore Album. What are your favorites from 40? His work with Too Short, The Click, his series of volumes. This King is more than an artist though, he is also an actor, appearing in 7 films, and 5 tv shows. Earl is also a business man, who started off owning a Fatburger with the late Raider Chestor McGlocklon in Pleasant Hill CA, which has since closed. He has beverages, 40 water, Earl Stephens Wine Selections, Slurricane Hurricane and more. We got some of his classics in the mix.
A bomb dropped on November 16, 1999 with the release of “Chronic 2001” by Dr. Dre. Reaching #2 on the Billboard 200 chart this was the follow up to Dre’s “The Chronic”. Filled with a whose who of LA artists, this was an instant classic. Featuring Snoop, Hittman, Kurupt, Nate Dogg, Xzibit, Knoc Turnal, Mc Ren, Defari, King T and more. In the Mix!
Last feature for this week comes from the Don Mega, Ice Cube. Predator was released November 17th 1992. Released after the Rodney King Rebellion, Cube touches on Police Terrorism, the conditions in the hood, as well as the insurrection after the beating of Rodney King. Classics include “It Was a Good Day,” “Check Yo Self” and “Wicked”. Don’t have to say much about this album produced by Dj Pooh, Sir Jinx, Torcha Chamba and Dj Muggs. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, in the mix all week.
